Hey GCAT!
I want to thank all GCATs in attendance at Monday's meeting. Your participation is what makes GCAT happen.
It was great to see you all and the meetings are only going to get better.
Special thanks to our new Vice President: Brad Crosson
and Director of Training: Darrel Williams
Brad is an Alabama native, married to wife Deanna and has 2 sons, Ingram and Gains. Brad is an outstanding member of the community and excellent role model representing the triathlete life style. He has a lot of great ideas for future club activities and initiatives. Brad recently sustained multiple injuries from a terrible car/bike accident and has had an amazing recovery. Brad is currently training toward IMFL on November 5th, what a comeback! For part of his upcoming training he plans to participate in the Frog Leg 70.3 on Saturday, Oct. 8th and then follow that up by doing the LAMB ride on Sunday, Oct 9th. Look out IMFL!
Darrel is originally from England and has recently relocated back to the Eastern Shore from Austin, TX and is married to wife Jenny. He is an accomplished top level Iron Man competitor and is founder of DW Fitness. Darrel just completed IM Kentucky, finishing 3rd in his age group in spite of a couple setbacks. He was on pace to break the run course record at the 13.1 marker until cramping issues held him back a little but he still "managed" 4th best time run time, beating many pros in the process. Darrel plans to create group GCAT training sessions for us along with other training idea's that we will hear about in the future. Look for Darrel's training tips on the GCAT FB site, this will be beneficial to all of us.
Please congratulate Brad and Darrel on their new positions.
